Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness

Scent Sensitive

We have members and visitors who are scent sensitive. You can help us in our goal of being open and accommodating to all who wish to worship with us by being scent aware.

As a scent sensitive community, we request that members of and visitors to LWCC refrain from wearing perfume/cologne, after-shave, scented lotion, and body powder inside the building as a first step in our efforts toward achieving a fragrance-free environment.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is a serious health condition recognized by the Americans With Disability Act and deserving of our accommodation.

To make it easier for people with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) or Environmental Illness (EI) to attend church, we have added an air filter within our sanctuary and offer designated seating. We are using only natural products inside and outside the building, moving towards being a chemical-free church. Our bathrooms have only fragrance-free soap and no air fresheners or potpourri.

These are merely steps along the way, as we aren’t at the end of our journey by any means. We continue to seek ways to welcome and engage all people. We truly believe we are called to continue to grow in faith and knowledge throughout our lives, and to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.” (Micah 6:8)
