Wedding Information
We at Lake Washington Christian Church seek to serve our community and it’s
needs. As Disciples of Christ, we are very open to serving people without
judging your lifestyle or previous beliefs. Should you choose this place for
your wedding, you will find a caring community of faith, willing to aid you in
the spiritual act of marriage.
The purpose of a church wedding is to ask God to bless your union in the
presence of your friends and relatives. Weddings can be elaborate or simple. Our
simple setting allows for a variety of seating arrangements and settings for
your wedding. It is our hope that persons married here see our sanctuary as a
place of worship where very important promises are made.
POLICY
- Weddings should be scheduled about six months in advance. We operate on a
first come, first served basis. Scheduled church events do have priority.
Dates will be confirmed after a deposit is made.
- Lake Washington Christian Church does not have a liquor license,
therefore, no alcoholic beverages can be consumed on the premises.
- Our sanctuary normally seats 120. Because we have chairs instead of pews,
more people can be accommodated. The maximum seating capacity is 150. Chairs
in our foyer can also seat an additional 35-40 guests.
- Furnishings may be moved only after permission is given and, under
supervision of the staff. All furniture must be returned to its original
position following the wedding.
- Decorations shall not be attached by any means that could puncture, mar or
otherwise damage the walls and furnishings.
- Our sound system and church owned musical instruments are to be played by
church staff only. Compact Disc and cassette tape players are also available
for any special song you might like to use. All music must be approved before
the wedding day.
- Marriage ceremonies are to be conducted by our pastor
at her discretion, and dependent upon her availability on your desired
wedding date. Other clergy within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
denomination may also be used. Outside clergy may assist in conducting
services.
- No smoking is allowed inside our church facilities.
FEES
One single fee of $555 covers the total cost of your wedding rehearsal and
ceremony. This fee includes: use of the facilities and parking, wedding
consultant, keyboardist/sound technician, minister, custodian and any
church-supplied soloists. Fees for smaller weddings and member rates are
available upon request.
Reserving space requires a 50% deposit ($277.50). The balance is due prior to
the rehearsal.
PREMARITAL COUNSELING
It is a fact that couples who prepare for marriage stay married longer. While
our pastor strongly recommends premarital counseling and offers it FREE OF
CHARGE, it is not a requirement. Please talk with our pastor about your
individual situation.
